⚠️Wick Parade parking fines: have you been affected? Complete my survey by 12 April 🚗
I am very concerned by the new parking regime at Wick Parade, Wick, and I need to hear directly from residents, shoppers and local businesses.
Last week, I visited stores in Wick and spoke to business owners including The Flower Shop, Sips and Giggles, and Going Spare. They told me the new parking enforcement system is causing confusion, damaging footfall and hurting local trade.
Under the current rules, visitors can stay for up to three hours — but if they leave Wick Parade on foot, they risk receiving a £100 parking fine from the private parking operator, One Parking Solution Ltd. Drivers may also be fined if they return within one hour. The site is monitored by multiple CCTV cameras.
This is affecting not only businesses at Wick Parade, but also shops across Wick, as well as nearby residential streets where parking is becoming dangerously overcrowded.
💪 I am standing up for Wick businesses, Wick residents and local shoppers and I will keep pressing for this issue to be resolved. I will also work with other MPs to push the Government to introduce a statutory code of practice for private parking operators.
To strengthen this case, I need as much evidence as possible.
