Thank you to everyone who nominated a pub and voted throughout the campaign. The response has been fantastic, with so many wonderful stories about the pubs you value and the difference they make to our communities.
Reading through the comments about The New Inn was a real reminder of what a great community pub is all about. People were not simply voting for their favourite place to have a drink. They spoke about a pub that raises thousands of pounds for charity, welcomes everyone through its doors, supports people through difficult times, and brings the community together.
Time and again, residents described The New Inn as more than a pub. They described it as family. That is a wonderful reflection on Becky, James, and the whole team, and they should be immensely proud of everything they have built.
I also want to congratulate all the pubs that reached the shortlist. The warmth, affection, and appreciation shown for each of them was wonderful to read. They should all be immensely proud of the place they hold in their community and the difference they make to so many people.
