Small businesses and family firms across the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton constituency make up the lifeblood of our local economy. That's why Alison Griffiths, MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, went out and about visiting so many of them for Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday was created to encourage shoppers to take a closer look at local businesses to see what they have to offer. Whether it's the fantastic local bakery, the butchers, or that local clothes shop, to name just a few, there's no better time to go out and support them.

Over the weekend, Alison was delighted to pop into a number of small and independently run shops. Shops included Flowers of Rustington and Barkers Electrical in Rustington, The Flower Bowl, Handmade by Wendy, and Pier Road Coffee and Art in Littlehampton, and Boutique Roma, Charlie Charlie One, The Waverley, and West Park Café in Bognor Regis.

And Alison wants people to take another look at their high streets to help give local firms a boost now and in the run up to Christmas.

Alison commented,

“Small businesses and family firms are at the heart of our community.

“I want to encourage us all to do everything we can to support them. I’ll keep standing up in Parliament to ensure businesses across our area get the support they need, recognising their importance as engines for growth. Not an endless revenue source from incremental taxation.

“For the future of our high streets, and the prosperity of our communities, it is vital that we all shop locally. Please do make an extra effort in the run-up to Christmas and pop into your independent and small businesses. It will make a real difference.”
