Saturday marked a special occasion in Bognor Regis as Alison Griffiths MP joined residents and dignitaries to honour the Armed Forces and veterans at the town’s Armed Forces Day celebration.
The event was attended by West Sussex Deputy Lieutenant Peter Webb MBE and the High Sheriff of West Sussex, Dr Tim Fooks, who had the honour of presenting Veterans’ badges during the ceremony.
A standout moment of the day was the breathtaking display of 12,752 poppies—each one individually sewn, knitted, or crocheted by a dedicated team of local volunteers. The project, led by Sarah Boote-Cook and Jan Malpas, brought together a phenomenal group of contributors whose efforts created a powerful and moving tribute.
Alison Griffiths MP expressed her deep gratitude to the organisers and volunteers for their extraordinary work and ongoing contributions to the community.
