Thank you to everyone who nominated a pub in my Community Pub Hero 2026 campaign.
The response has been fantastic. Together, you’ve submitted almost 1,000 nominations and comments, sharing stories about the pubs that sit at the heart of our communities and the people who make them such special places.
From fundraising and supporting local charities, to providing a welcoming space for community groups, sports teams, and neighbours to come together, it has been wonderful to read so many examples of the difference our local pubs make every single day.
I was also delighted to receive nominations for pubs beyond the boundaries of Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, and our villages. Whilst only pubs within the constituency are eligible to go forward in this competition, it was fantastic to see so many people wanting to recognise great pubs across West Sussex and beyond.
After carefully reviewing all of the nominations, I can now announce the ten pubs that have made the Community Pub Hero 2026 shortlist:

- The Bear Free House, Littlehampton
- The Dog & Duck, Bognor Regis
- The Dolphin, Littlehampton
- The Fox Inn, Felpham
- The Maypole Inn, Yapton
- The New Inn, Littlehampton
- The Punch & Judy, Bognor Regis
- The Victoria Inn, Bognor Regis
- The Waverley, Bognor Regis
These are the pubs that received the highest number of nominations from across Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, and our villages.

Voting closes at 12.01am on Thursday 2 July, after which the winning pub will be announced and will go on to represent Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in the national Community Pub Hero Awards.
Our local pubs are about so much more than serving food and drink. They create jobs, support local suppliers, bring communities together, and often provide a lifeline for people who might otherwise feel isolated.
