One of the top priorities for Alison Griffiths, MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, is renewing local high streets and helping residents feel safe in their communities.
Alison is in regular contact with Sussex Police, including District Commander Chief Inspector Will Keating-Jones, to raise concerns shared by constituents and to stay informed about the actions being taken to improve safety across the area.
Sussex Police have now announced a series of robust measures aimed at tackling crime and enhancing public confidence in Bognor Regis and the wider Arun district:
- A new district engagement plan for Arun, with increased police patrols, a new Town Centre Action Group, and joint days of action to boost public trust and tackle local crime.
- Targeted operations using specialist resources to combat organised crime.
- A new Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant.
- Four additional officers, including two based directly in Bognor Regis town centre.
- Increased PCSOs, with four new PCSOs scheduled to join the district this year.
- Launch of a mobile police hub this summer, providing a visible and responsive police presence in identified hotspots.
These steps represent a renewed commitment to proactive, community-focused policing in Bognor Regis.
Later this week, Bognor Regis Town Council and local businesses will come together to explore further targeted actions to improve community safety. Alison remains actively engaged in these discussions and continues to support all those working to make Bognor Regis a safer place for everyone.
She will continue to work closely with local police and key organisations to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
Residents are also encouraged to complete Alison’s survey on crime and anti-social behaviour to ensure their views are heard and represented. Please respond below.
